Awards and Prizes

This is a USATF NE Grand Prix race. USATF NE requires gun times for scoring. Therefore this race uses gun times in consideration of the awarding of prizes!

TEAM AWARDS

As in past years when the Amherst 10-Miler has been part of the Grand Prix Series, prize money will be awarded to USATF-NE teams only.

If you plan to run as part of a team competing in the Grand Prix Series, you must be a member of USATF-NE. If you are not already a USATF-NE member, you can become one by going to the USATF-NE membership page (http://www.usatfne.org/member/)

For information on the Grand Prix team scoring requirements, check out the Grand Prix Competition Guidelines (http://www.usatfne.org/road/gp-competition-guidelines-2014x.pdf)

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

As in past years when the Amherst 10-Miler has been part of the Grand Prix Series, prize money for individual awards will be awarded to USATF-NE athletes only.   If you are not already a USATF-NE member, you can become one by going to the USATF-NE membership page (http://www.usatfne.org/member/)

In order to spread out the winnings among a larger number of runners and therefore encourage greater competition, there will be no double-dipping within the individual awards. Click here for more information.

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING THE GRAND PRIX (If you are competing in the Grand Prix – READ THIS)

  • The race will be chip timed with mats at the start and finish. For the purposes of determining all scoring and awards, the official times used will be “gun times”, NOT “net times” (as required by USATF-NE).
  • If you are competing in the Grand Prix Series: Note that individual winners must be USATF-NE members prior to start of race in order to score in the Grand Prix and the Championship road races (including the Amherst 10-Miler) as an individual or for a team. If you are not already a USATF-NE member, you can become one by going to the USATF-NE membership page (http://www.usatfne.org/member/). There will be opportunity to become member prior to the race on race morning, if you choose to register on race day (but we recommend pre-registering to make the race-day experience run more smoothly).
